Additional furniture for the inner outdoor space

Initial situation 2018:

• few seating and standing options for active/passive recuperation during breaks or as meeting places in Irchel Mitte/Süd (retreat, social get-together)
  furniture in atrium Y04 is underused by zvf catering group during summer break

Aims:

• campus enhancement, i.e. multifunctional and more flexible (need- and weather-dependent) use of the inner open spaces for break recreation, learning, or work

Procedure:

• exploring possible risks and general conditions
• coordinate design and purchase of 8 new metal benches and 3 standing tables that will not be anchored in place
• pilot positioning of benches and standing tables for three months during the summer months
• evaluation of use, operation and safety during and after the pilot phase
• agreement on the permitted radius of movement of the furnitue by the users with the relevant specialist authorities and units
